The great Stanley Thompson (the architect responsible for Banff
Springs and Jasper) laid down the plans for Tor Hill in 1928.
Considered by many to possess some of the finest natural terrain
for golf in the province, Thompson's plans were implemented
in 1931 when the course was built with sand greens.
Over the years superior greens and many bunkers have been added.
However, because the original Thompson plans were lost, the
additions are not likely what the architect originally envisioned.
Nonetheless, Tor Hill is as excellent a course as its pedigree
would suggest.
Among many challenging holes, none is more difficult than
the 240 yard 4th. Requiring a 180 to 190 yard carry over water
immediately off the tee, your ball must then travel another
30 yards just to make the fringe of the green. A narrow strip
of fairway on the right of the water hazard offers a difficult
bailout option, due to an out of bounds running the entire
right side of the hole. The green itself is hourglass shaped,
small and sloped back to front. On the other side there are
bunkers. Consider a bogie here a good score.
Tor Hill has a magnificent 11,000 square foot clubhouse complete
with both a banquet room and a board room.

From the City of Regina, take McDonald Street heading Northeast
into Kings Park and follow the Golf Course signs to Tor Hill
Golf Course.

Facilities
27 hole Championship course, driving range, food and beverage
services, power cars, club and cart rentals, lesson programs.
Policy
All golfers are kindly requested to wear appropriate attire
at all times. Shirts and appropriate shoes must be worn. Cancellations
should be made as far in advance as possible.
An eighteen hole round of golf is meant to be played in four
to four and one half hours, a generous 15 minutes per hole.
Please try to stay within one shot of the group in front of
you which will help make everyone's day an enjoyable one. Thank
you for your co-operation and have a great round.
Booking Procedures: Nine hole rounds will be limited to the
first one and one half hours of daily course operation, on the
back nine only. Tee times for both nine and eighteen hole rounds
may be reserved three days in advance, starting at 7:00pm. EXAMPLE:
Saturday Tee Times begin booking at 7:00pm Wednesday.
NOTE: Singles or walk-on rounds of either nine or eighteen holes
are permitted if tee times are available and are booked in person
through the Pro Shop.
Late twilight (the last 2.5 hours of sunlight) can only be booked
through the Pro Shop.
